How can the level of a disc prolapse be identified?

The level of a disc prolapse can be determined using a simple formula based on Sciatica, a shooting pain that travels down the leg. For instance, if the pain radiates to the outer aspect of the leg, it is typically associated with the L4-5 disc. If the pain is felt in the back of the leg, particularly in the calf, it usually corresponds to the L5-S1 disc. If the pain is located in the front of the leg, it is likely related to the L3-4 disc.
