What is the Schroth method for Scoliosis?
The Schroth exercise method is a specialized physical therapy approach for scoliosis that targets the spine in three dimensions to correct abnormal curvature. It emphasizes pelvic alignment, spinal elongation, rotational angular breathing (RAB), and isometric muscle activation to promote muscular balance and postural control. Each routine is tailored to the individual’s unique spinal curve, often using props for alignment. While it doesn’t cure scoliosis, it helps reduce pain, improve posture, and may slow curve progression.
