Spine & Overflow Incontinence

What is cauda equina syndrome?

Cauda equina syndrome is a serious medical condition characterized by the compression of a bundle of nerves at the lumbar region of the spine. This condition can cause symptoms like the inability to control urine, particularly when the bladder is full, which is known as overflow incontinence. The syndrome is often caused by disc prolapse but can also result from other factors such as infections, tumors, fractures, and more.
