What happens when the cervical spinal cord is severely compressed?
Severe compression of the cervical spinal cord can lead to a condition known as cervical myelopathy. This condition is characterized by clumsiness in walking, unsteadiness, and a wide-based gait, similar to the symptoms seen in someone who is intoxicated. It can also cause hand clumsiness and, in some cases, urinary disturbances.
