Spine & Plaited hair

What does the cervical spinal cord look like in cervical spondylotic myelopathy?

The spinal cord is a delicate tissue resembling a narrow tube, enclosed in a fluid-filled covering. In severe cases of cervical spondylosis, the cord is compressed from both the front by the disc and from the back by the lamina and ligamentum flavum. This compression, when viewed in a sagittal MRI, appears similar to plaited hair.
