What is considered heavy weight? How much weight should you lift?
Lifting heavy weights can cause significant muscle spasms and even lead to disc herniation. However, what qualifies as heavy weight varies from person to person. For instance, a 50kg weight might be too heavy for a small, fragile individual, but manageable for a well-built, muscular person. Any weight that makes you hold your breath, strain your core muscles, and increase abdominal pressure should be considered heavy and are better avoided.
