Spine & Horse tail

What is cauda equina?

The spinal cord terminates in the lumbar region and continues within the vertebral canal as spinal nerves. This bundle of nerves at the end of the spinal cord resembles a horse’s tail and is known as the cauda equina. These nerves are responsible for sending and receiving signals to and from the lower limbs and pelvic organs.
