What is Bow Hunter syndrome?
Bow Hunter Syndrome, named after the head-turning motion of bow hunters, occurs when neck rotation at C1-2 compresses the vertebral artery, disrupting blood flow to the brain. This can cause dizziness, vertigo, nausea, blurred vision, fainting, and ringing in the ears. It typically results from bone spurs, herniated discs, or degenerative changes in the cervical spine. Diagnosis requires imaging, and treatment varies from physical therapy and neck braces to surgery for severe cases.
