The spinal bones are connected at three key points: a single intervertebral disc located in front of the spinal cord and two facet joints positioned behind the spinal cord. Together, these connection points provide both mobility and stability to the spine.

This arrangement, resembles the Tamil “Ayudha Ezhuthu” symbol of three dots.
